I’m tutoring a Dispersal dye workshop in May. I’ve had these dyes mixed for ages so needed to test them in case I have to re-stock. They are still fine but some will need topping up. I used a fern as a resist when transferring from painted paper to the fabric. The same leaf can be used many times and it picks up colour which also then transfers.
The dyes can be applied in layers, especially if you want to tone down the colours which can be very bright. Below: yarn as a resist
How interesting! Have never worked with dispersal dyes but I may be even more fascinated with your use of fern and yarn as resists!
Lovely! The yarn is really interesting. Those dyes don’t work on cotton, right?
these look great. I haven’t worked with dispersal dyes either will investigate further!! Thanks for sharing.
So much fun.
