Something new

I bought a few of these coloured glass vases – this is the first cover I made – thought they might be nice for the cafe shop. What do you think? Another opened out book cover made with lots of left over pieces.

Some studio time

I haven’t had much time in the studio lately but today I did some thermofax printing. The design was done from a photocopy of a grevillea leaf from our garden. Note the thermofax screen is taped instead of having a white plastic frame. I didn’t like using these at first – it is easier to […]

New covered sketchbooks

These are a few of the covered books I’ve been making to sell at Genesis in the Hills vegetarian cafe. They’ve been selling so well, I can’t keep up! Above: the background is made up from tiny scraps of quilt fabric and some yarns with a sheer fabric over – the heart fabric was made […]

Hot Hot Hot!

Much cooler today – to everyone’s relief, but we’ve had a couple of days 44 and 41C with our hottest night on record at over 29 minimum. A horrible bushfire in the Mundaring/ Parkerville area yesterday caused around 50 homes to be destroyed. We live in the hills too, so I really feel for the […]

Sun prints

I had some pressed rose leaves which I used to make 2 thermofax screens so I thought I would also do a sunprint with the idea of possibly using it in my ‘Living Colour’ quilt. I may over print it with the thermofax screen too. The circular print above is a different kind of sunprint […]

Covered sketchbooks

I got a few more covered books made today for the Mia Flora craft fair tomorrow, as well as pricing and organising everything. Hope its not too hot as we’ll be outside.

book covers and more

I finished these yesterday, they are for the Craft fair at Mia Flora Garden Centre and café, Brookton Highway, Roleystone on Sunday 27th October. I tried my new stencil in my sketchbook and on fabric – quite pleased with it. Below: a new thermofax screen made from a photo of fallen leaves from our perssimon tree. The […]

More new work

Block print and hand painting on linen. Below: sequin waste used as a stencil over background print. Journal pages: various stencil and print techniques. Some of my small framed textile works. Glass makes it hard to photograph. This machine embroidered fabric collage on a thermofax printed background is now framed too. Sketchbook cover with appliqued […]
