Creatures and Boabs
The above photo shows one of the many Boab trees in Broome.

(below) I was intrigued by this seen on the beach sand at Broome’s port. Some kind of small marine creature lives here, each pattern has a little hole in the middle and the pattern is formed by little balls of sand arranged at random. I think they might be the waste product from whatever lives in the sand but to me it looks rather beautiful.

  1. I used to collect those little sand balls when I was a kid, fascinated by the perfection & uniformity. Where my gran lived they were made by blue soldier crabs (in their thousands; kind of an awesome sight when they marched en masse), so I’d be putting it down to a similar sand crab.
